What to do if my child can't attend a class.

UH-OH. WHAT TO DO IF MY CHILD CAN’T ATTEND CLASS?

Don’t panic! We know life gets busy, kids get sick and missing a class happens. Follow these step-by-step instructions & use the Reading Bees app.

ALWAYS USE THE READING BEES APP. 

We know it might feel easier to call or email, BUT the Reading Bees app is the only way to inform us that your child will miss a class AND be eligible for a Makeup Class. TWO hours notice is always required.  We always appreciate more notice, though. :)  

STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS

1) Log into your Reading Bees app. 

2) Click “Account”, then click on your child’s profile. 

3) Click “Future Absences.” 

4) Under “How do you want to create a future absence?” Click “By Date.” 

5) Under “Will this absence span multiple days?” Click “No.”

6) Click “Pick a Date” and choose the class date that will be missed.

7) Uncheck “All Day” and input your regular class time.

8) Click “Submit.”

9) You'll get a popup on a new screen that says, “Expected absence created.”

10) If you complete this process more than 2 hours before your class time, you will see a ‘green yes’ to confirm your eligibility for a makeup class.

*Note that the system will only generate a Makeup Token on the day of your child’s class after attendance is taken to confirm their absence.
