What to do if my child can't attend a class.

Don’t panic! We know life gets busy, kids get sick and missing a class happens. Follow these step-by-step instructions in the Reading Bees app. Remember, we always require at least two hours' notice! 

NOTE - This process helps us manage all student absences, including those for primary student screening appointments.

STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS

1) Log in to your Reading Bees app. 

2) Click “Account”, then click on your child’s profile. 

3) Click “Future Absences.” 

4) Under “How do you want to create a future absence?” Click “By Date.” 

5) Under “Will this absence span multiple days?” Click “No.”

6) Click “Pick a Date” and choose the class date that will be missed.

7) Uncheck “All Day” and input your regular class time.

8) Click “Submit.”

9) You'll get a pop-up on a new screen that says, “Expected absence created.”

10) If you complete this process more than 2 hours before your class time, you will see a ‘green yes’ to confirm your eligibility for a makeup class.

*Note that the system will only generate a Makeup Token on the day of your child’s class after attendance is taken to confirm their absence.
