Favourite part of class /being an educator?

What I love about being an educator is being in the company of children and helping and seeing them learn new things and overcome challenges. I had been a Prep teacher in the past and then found myself specialising Literacy Support in a large secondary school for a few years where I became heavily involved in teaching reading and spelling to struggling teenagers using the same methods we do here at Reading Bees.  I really felt for those older students and so was born my passion to do something about it back at the primary level and focus only on reading and spelling.

What do you love most about your job at reading Bees?

I love that I can focus more easily on individual needs due to our skills-based small classes. I also love the conversations I have with the students and seeing how engaged they are and enjoying their learning. It's awesome seeing my eight and nine year old students now thinking about spelling patterns and rules we've been learning and practising instead of just guessing, and seeing how proud they are that they have improved so much!
